{"id":1117,"date":"2023-04-18T09:08:17","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T07:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vblog.hochsticher.de\/?p=1117"},"modified":"2023-04-20T08:15:42","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T06:15:42","slug":"trouble-to-activate-vlcm-on-a-nsx-and-tanzu-enabled-cluster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vblog.hochsticher.de\/?p=1117","title":{"rendered":"Trouble to activate vLCM on a NSX and Tanzu enabled Cluster?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We installed a brand new vSphere 8 Lab with VSAN, NSX and enabled Tanzu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now we want to activate the vLCM (vSphere Lifecycle Manager) Image and ran into the following Issue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Payload of unsupported Workload Management solution has been identified on the following host(s): vmw8-esx01.xyz.lab, vmw8-esx02.xyz.lab, vmw8-esx03.xyz.lab, vmw8-esx04.xyz.lab<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solution needs to be disabled.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2850\" height=\"1268\" src=\"https:\/\/vblog.hochsticher.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1119\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, I was unsure what kind of Solution was really causing the Problem. NSX or Tanzu? In the past we had issues in vSphere 7 with NSX and vLCM. Also there was no vLCM pre-checks on Workloads like Tanzu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So i checked what is supported with vLCM Images?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>VSAN? Sure!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NSX? Since NSX-T 3.1 and vSphere 7 Update 1(<a href=\"https:\/\/chrisdsibug26.wordpress.com\/2020\/10\/29\/vlcm-and-nsx-t-integration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"vLCM and NSX-T Integration\">vLCM and NSX-T&nbsp;Integration<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.1.1 Release Notes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Relase Notes<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>vSphere with Tanzu? Transition from vSphere Update Manager to vSphere Lifecycle<br>Manager. is only supported for clusters that do not have vSphere with Tanzu enabled.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>So this is crystal clear. Disable the Tanzu Workload! I hope you have the opportunity to move or disable your Workload.
