vSphere 6.5 Anounced with many good and overdue features

Last week I saw the new vSphere 6.5 at VMworld 2016 (EU). I’m very happy with the upcoming features. Some of them are extremely cool and some are overdue.

A short wrap up:

  • vSphere Update Manager included in VCSA
  • Automatic Migration to VCSA from Windows vCenter
  • vCenter High Availability (Active,Passive,Witness) 5min RTO
  • HTML 5 Client
  • no more vSphere Fat-Client
  • GUI for vSphere Autodeploy
  • VM Encryption
  • Encrypted VMotion
